Clydebank FC
The Bankies – the town's fan-owned football club, on the rise.
Football has been part of Clydebank life for generations, and today the town's club carries the name with pride. Clydebank FC – known to everyone as the Bankies – is a fan-owned club, formed in 2003 and run by its own supporters through United Clydebank Supporters. They play their home games at Holm Park.
The current club was reborn after the original Clydebank FC left the town, and it has climbed the Scottish football pyramid the hard way – up through the junior and non-league ranks, carried along by a fiercely loyal local support.
In 2024–25 the Bankies were crowned West of Scotland Premier Division champions and became the first club ever promoted from that league into the Lowland League – a landmark season for Clydebank football.
Following the Bankies
Now competing in the Lowland League, Clydebank FC remains a real community club – the sort of place the town turns out for on a Saturday afternoon. If you fancy taking in a game, or want to see how they are getting on, the club keeps its fixtures and the latest league table up to date on its own website.
