About Ewehurst

Ewehurst is a 100% wool loop pile with more personality than most, and the eight shades tell you what kind of range it is — every one of them begins with an E, from Egyptian Cotton at the palest end through Elfin, Echo and Eucalyptus in the middle to Elegant Grey, Etrusian Grey, Eclipse and Ebonite at the darker end. It's a small boutique collection rather than an exhaustive one, chosen for character rather than coverage. Eucalyptus is the one worth singling out: a soft green-grey is unusual in fitted carpet, and it works beautifully in a room with natural wood or plants where a plain neutral would feel flat. At the other end, Eclipse and Ebonite give you genuinely deep options for a snug or a study. The loop construction resists crushing in walkways, and wool brings the warmth, the natural soil resistance and the recovery from furniture that make it worth the money in a room you actually use. Part of the Floors by Lewis Abbott collection, distributed by Likewise Floors.

Colours in this range

All 8 shades below can be ordered through our Clydebank showroom, arranged here from lightest to darkest. Swatch images give a good guide, but colour reads differently under real light — Eucalyptus especially, which is far harder to judge on a screen than any plain neutral.

Eucalyptus is the one people rule out from a screen

A soft green-grey sounds like a risk and photographs like one, but in a real room it behaves much more like a neutral — it sits beautifully with wood, stone and plants. It's the shade most likely to be dismissed online and most likely to be chosen once it's on the floor. Book a free home measure and we'll bring Eucalyptus along with the safer neutrals, put them against your own skirtings, measure up and give you a written price including underlay, fitting and uplift. Free, no obligation.

Common questions

Why is there no price on this page?

Flooring is priced per job rather than per metre off a shelf. The final figure depends on the room size and shape, the underlay you choose, whether we're lifting an old floor, door trims, and the fitting itself. The free home measure is how you get a real number, and it costs nothing.

Is a green carpet a risky choice?

Eucalyptus is a soft green-grey rather than a strong colour, so it behaves much more like a neutral than people expect — it sits well with wood, stone and plants, and it doesn't fight furniture the way a saturated green would. Don't rule it out on the name alone; we'll bring it to the measure and put it next to your skirtings.

How does Ewehurst compare with your other wool loops?

It's a smaller, more characterful selection. Rural Charm and Pickwick are safer neutral palettes; Chantilly has the widest tonal spread; Ewehurst sits between them with eight distinctive shades including the green-grey and two genuinely dark options. We can bring all four ranges to the measure so you see them together.

Is a loop pile a good idea if I have pets?

Worth thinking twice about with cats specifically, as claws can pull individual loops. If that's a concern, say so when you book and we'll bring twist pile alternatives to the measure alongside it.

Do you fit as well as supply?

We do. We arrange fitting across Clydebank, Glasgow and the surrounding areas, including uplift and disposal of your old flooring if needed.
