What flooring fitting really costs
The flooring price is only half the story. Here is what fitting, underlay, door bars and lifting your old floor cost with us, so there are no surprises when the quote arrives.
Fitting
Fitting is priced per square metre and paid on the day
We supply the flooring and arrange the fitting with independent fitters we have used for years. Fitting is paid directly to the fitter when the job is finished, which keeps the price honest. The exact rate depends on the floor, the room and what is under it, and it is confirmed in writing on your free home measure. As a guide:

Minimum charges apply on very small rooms. Fitting prices are a guide only and are confirmed on your free measure before you commit to anything.
The extras
Underlay, door bars and lifting the old floor
These are the bits that get left off other quotes and added on at the end. Ours are fixed prices, so you can work them out yourself.

Worked example
A 16m² living room in carpet
A typical 4m x 4m lounge, replacing an old carpet, with one door bar into the hall. The flooring itself is priced per square metre on top, whatever you choose from the showroom.

Questions
The ones we get asked most
- Why is fitting paid to the fitter and not to you?
- Because it keeps the price down. The fitter is paid on the day for the work done, nothing is marked up in the middle, and if a job needs an extra hour you pay for an extra hour, not a padded estimate.
- Do I have to use your fitter?
- No. Buy the flooring, underlay and trims from us and fit it yourself or use your own fitter. Boxed laminate and LVT can be delivered on a pallet anywhere on the UK mainland.
- What about stairs?
- Stairs and landings are priced per stair on the measure, because a straight flight and a winding one with a half landing are very different jobs.
- What if there is a problem under the old floor?
- We quote on what we can see. If the fitter lifts the old floor and finds loose boards, damp or an uneven subfloor, they stop and agree any extra work and cost with you before carrying on.
- Can I spread the cost?
