About Pickwick
Pickwick is a fine loop pile in 100% natural wool, and it sits at the more refined end of the wool loops we carry. Where Nickleby is chunky and rugged and Huckleberry has a deliberately uneven high-low surface, Pickwick is even and understated — the texture is there when you look for it, but the floor reads as calm rather than characterful. That makes it the easier choice for a formal living room or a main bedroom, where you want the carpet to be the quiet backdrop rather than a feature. The eight shades are contemporary neutrals that sit comfortably alongside most decorating schemes. Wool is a renewable, sustainable fibre — it grows back — and it brings the practical advantages that come with it: warmth underfoot, natural flame resistance, natural soil resistance from the fibre's own coating, and the ability to spring back after furniture rather than holding the dent. Part of the Floors by Lewis Abbott collection, distributed by Likewise Floors.

Colours in this range
All 8 shades below can be ordered through our Clydebank showroom. Swatch images give a good guide, but colour reads differently under real light — and a fine, even loop like this is exactly the sort of neutral that shifts most between a showroom and a north-facing room.
See it in your own light before you commit
Carpet colour behaves completely differently in a north-facing room than it does under showroom lighting, and neutrals shift the most of all. Book a free home measure and we'll bring the Pickwick samples to the room itself — alongside any other ranges you're weighing up — measure properly, and give you a written price including underlay, fitting and uplift of the old floor. Free, no obligation.

Why is there no price on this page?
Flooring is priced per job rather than per metre off a shelf. The final figure depends on the room size and shape, the underlay you choose, whether we're lifting an old floor, door trims, and the fitting itself. The free home measure is how you get a real number, and it costs nothing.
How does Pickwick differ from the other wool loops you stock?
Mostly in how much the texture announces itself. Pickwick is fine and even, so it reads as a calm backdrop. Huckleberry has a deliberate high-low surface with more visible character, and Nickleby is chunkier again with a rugged, natural look. All three are wool loops; the choice is about how much you want the floor to be noticed. We can bring all three to the measure so you can see them together on your own floor.
Is wool really more sustainable than a synthetic carpet?
On the fibre itself, yes — it's renewable, it grows back, and it biodegrades at end of life, where a polypropylene carpet doesn't. Worth being straight with you though: backing materials and adhesives vary, so a wool carpet isn't automatically a fully natural product from top to bottom. Ask us about the specific construction if it matters to you.
Is a loop pile a good idea if I have pets?
Worth thinking twice about with cats specifically, as claws can pull individual loops. If that's a concern, say so when you book and we'll bring twist pile alternatives to the measure alongside it.
Do you fit as well as supply?
We do. We arrange fitting across Clydebank, Glasgow and the surrounding areas, including uplift and disposal of your old flooring if needed.
