About the Sisal Collection
This is the real thing rather than a lookalike, and that distinction matters. Sisal is a natural plant fibre, spun and woven into a floor with a texture and a depth of colour that synthetic imitations get close to but never quite match. It has an architectural quality — it reads as a considered, organic surface rather than as carpet, which is why it turns up so often in interiors magazines and in rooms where the floor is meant to be part of the design rather than a backdrop to it. The collection runs three weaves. Small Bouclé is the finest and most even, a small looped texture that behaves like a quiet neutral. Herringbone brings the classic V pattern into a natural fibre, with more visible direction and structure. Tygris is the boldest of the three, a pronounced weave for a floor that's meant to be noticed. Being straight about the trade-off, because it matters: natural sisal is firmer underfoot than wool and it does not like liquid. The fibre absorbs spills quickly and marks can be permanent, so it belongs in a hall, a study, a dining room or a bedroom rather than anywhere prone to accidents. If you love the look but want something more forgiving, ask us about Pot Pourri — it's the faux sisal version and it lives with family life far better. Weaves and colourways
Eight colourways across the three weaves. Availability moves around, so ring us on 0141 266 0400 and we'll confirm what's in stock before you settle on one. Natural fibre also varies a little between batches — that's part of the character, but it's another reason to see the real thing rather than a screen.
Small Bouclé — the finest, most even weave
Herringbone — classic V pattern with visible direction
Tygris — the boldest, most pronounced weave
Sisal is wonderful in the right room and wrong in the others
It wears beautifully, but the natural fibre absorbs spills fast and marks can be permanent — so the room matters more with sisal than with almost any other floor. Book a free home measure and we'll look at the actual space, bring the three weaves and the faux sisal alternative, and tell you honestly whether sisal is right here or whether you'd be happier with something more forgiving. Free, no obligation, and no hard feelings if the answer is the cheaper option.

Why is there no price on this page?
Flooring is priced per job rather than per metre off a shelf. The final figure depends on the room size and shape, the underlay you choose, whether we're lifting an old floor, door trims, and the fitting itself. The free home measure is how you get a real number, and it costs nothing.
Is real sisal a practical choice?
In the right room, yes — it's tough and it wears extremely well. But we'd be doing you no favours by glossing over the weakness: sisal is a natural plant fibre and it absorbs liquid fast, so spills can mark permanently and it can't be cleaned as aggressively as a synthetic. It's a poor choice for a kitchen, a family dining room with young children, or anywhere with a damp problem. In a hall, a study or a bedroom it's superb.
I love the look but I've got kids. What else could I have?
Pot Pourri. It's a faux sisal — a woven flatweave that mimics the texture and natural colouring but in a polypropylene-rich blend, so it's softer underfoot and far more forgiving with spills. Most people can't tell the difference across a room. We'll bring both to the measure so you can compare them properly.
Is it scratchy underfoot?
It's firmer and coarser than wool — that's the nature of the fibre. Small Bouclé is the gentlest of the three weaves and Tygris the most pronounced. If you're planning to use it in a bedroom where you'll be barefoot, we'd rather you stood on the samples before committing, which is exactly what the home measure is for.
Do you fit as well as supply?
We do. We arrange fitting across Clydebank, Glasgow and the surrounding areas, including uplift and disposal of your old flooring if needed. Natural fibre needs a fitter who knows how it behaves, so it's worth having us arrange it rather than sourcing a fitter yourself.
Let us bring the Sisal Collection to you
We don't list flooring prices online — every job is priced on the room, the underlay and the fitting. Book a free home measure and we'll bring the samples to you, measure properly and give you a written price including fitting. No charge, no obligation.
